Random Ramblings

*I want to drop kick Blogger in the cooter. Yes, the cooter. I just typed up this long freakin post that took 40 minutes at least and clicked 'publish post' only for a stupid "BAD REQUEST" window to pop up. THE WHOLE THING IS GONE. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!? I have had so many issues with gmail and blogger lately. Seriously google, get your shit together.

*JT was walking around the house practicing his rhyming skills. He and Griffin do this all the time and it usually involves made up words. Today’s rhyming word? Fucka. “Fucka, ducka, mucka, chucka, fucka. YEA!” HAHA. I was laughing so hard. Fingers crossed he thought of the word on his own and it isn’t learned, LOL.

*I hate when people are elusive. Say what you want to say and don’t tiptoe around it. I don’t censor myself; if there is something I want to say I say it and try to do so tactfully and I respect any one else who does, too.

*I think the American education system is in greater need of a facelift than the health care system.

*This really bugs me. Really, really bugs me. And I hope I don’t offend anyone, but sorry if I do. Barack Obama is biracial. BI-RACIAL. He is not our first black president, he is our first biracial president. And, personally, I don’t think that this is any less significant of a fact. Either way, he is still the first non-Caucasian president of our country. But for a country so consumed with being politically correct, it sure has dropped the ball on this one.

*New medicine = 1209258102958102958% better. I’m starting to feel like my normal self again, mentally speaking. The physical nonsense will forever be a work in progress.

*I haven’t been contacted by anyone on match.com since the last post. Perhaps they all caught wind of my post? HAHA. I have been emailing with a guy who seems nice and normal, so we’ll see what happens. At least it hasn’t been a total bust of clueless men.

*My cousin’s twins makes me want twin boys SO badly. They are entirely too much fun. This week I tried teaching them how to pronounce the state fish of Hawai’i since it was on their shirts and they’d just look at me, blink, and shout “TARGET!” HAHA! Apparently they go to Target a lot. I have a video of it, but that'd be kind of weird to post a video of kids that aren't my own. *Bonus points to anyone who can correctly spell the state fish of Hawai’I ;)

*I worked 57 hours in six days. Twenty-seven of which were done Tuesday & Wednesday. I don’t mind what I do, but it’s been really, really exhausting lately. Of course the one year I could really use a break and summer trip is the one year out of the past 23 that doesn’t have one.

*I am habitually late and firmly believe that my life is just 5-10 minutes behind the rest of the world. If it’s 945 in Indiana, it’s only 935 in Marianne-Land. It doesn’t matter how much time I give myself to get somewhere, I will always and forever be 5-10 minutes late. Never more, never less, and certainly, never early.

*I *think* I’ve made a decision regarding which nursing program to do. Once I know with 100% certainty, believe me, y’all will be among the first to know.

*We opened our pool today! Yay! Summer is almost here!

*I think my humor and sarcasm get lost in translation a lot. Such a pity.

*I hope you all had a wonderful week. I read a few posts here and there, but internet access was incredibly limited and time and energy were sparse.

*Monkey still needs prayers. Ian has set up a fundraiser, so click here if you want to join the effort. But by all means, please don't feel obligated to do so. Times are tough, I totally understand, I can only afford to pray, too. But prayer is a mighty powerful thing.

I’ll try to be better about next week.

Have a super duper weekend! My Grams’ is coming into town and I don’t have to babysit again until Monday afternoon. WOOHOO!!!

Oh, my dear....SOOOO sorry about the 40-minute post delete!! That happens to me all the flippin' TIME, and I have to restrain myself from throwing my whole computer off the damn balcony! *hugs* I'm also having a shitload of issues with Gmail, and I don't know why!! It's acting up with my regular account AND my school one!! Really bugs me.

And, FTW...state fish of Hawaii is....*drumroll*...humuhumunukunukuapua'a. LOL (I play the fishing game on Facebook in YoVille all the time, and that's one of the fish you can catch. xD) I know, I'm such a dork!

LOVED the story about JT's word du jour!!! That would absolutely crack me up!! I know it's not really a "funny" thing for a kid to curse, but for some reason it makes me laugh my ass off everytime I hear it. Go fig! LOL

TOTALLY agree with the facelift thoughts...education, at least education in Texas, is a freaking SHAMBLES. Healthcare is fucked no matter what....but my kids aren't getting an education anymore, they're getting TAKS-tested within an inch of their lives and nothing more than that. REALLYREALLYREALLY pisses me off to NO END!!!! And that much could so EASILY be changed!!!!!!!!

I'm another of those always running, and always running behind. I think my boss just accepts it as the lot in life, and moves on. LOL Glad it's not just me!

I love your sarcasm!! =D

Still praying for Monkey like a fiend....haven't had the funds available to donate just yet, but I will soon!! I can't wait to help out with that.

Have a good visit with your Grams! =) TTYL...

Did I inspire you with my random ramblings post to do something similar? It is a catchy name!

I too have written something only to have it vanish. Now, I generally write my posts in Word and transfer them to blogger when I am ready to post - that way they don't disappear and are backed up.

I am glad the medicine is making you feel better!

Have a great Saturday!

P.S. You look very pretty in your profile picture (I'm not sure how new it is, but I'm just noticing it).

I am going to be elusive and not make a comment........... Just kidding! My word of the day is now cooter and I am going to use it in sentences as much as possible :-) Have a good weekend!

I'm gonna go with anne and say my word of the day is cooter, also. When I was a kid my mother called our "privates" cooters. So I am especially cracked up by your reference to them.
In other news, I am soooo glad you made the announcement on your blog to the world that Obama is biracial. HE'S NOT BLACK. I did years of research on the biracial race before I had my little girls. I can tell you that if a person looks at all black then thats what dumbass americans call them. I had to fill out an application recently for the babies and there wasn't a politically correct race box for me to check. Shit, damn, and hell. I left the mofo blank. Bastards.
Okay I feel better. Thanks for letting me ramble.

Oh my WORD! I think you and I operate on the same time continuum (I don't know how to spell that word...obviously...) Anywho...I used to be habitually - ANNOYINGY - ahead of time - superprompt - like 10 to 15 minutes EARLY - and everyone was annoyed with me about it. Now, something happened. I blame MS, but it happened way before that. Now, I'm ALWAYS 10-15 minutes late. I'm turning into my sister, Lynda. Honestly. We always tell her functions start 30 minutes sooner than they do, so she'll be on time. Lynda is 9 years older than me. I'm even starting to LOOK like her, lately!!! I think that's it...I'm becoming Lynda.

Are you?

I wouldn't know about any problems with Blogger since I've not had time to post a thing in days, but I'm sorry you lost your post. How frustrating!

I, too, hate people that tip toe around what it is they want to say. Just spit it out already.

The American education system is terrible, namely public school (at least it is around here) which is why I fork out a ridonkulous amount of money each month for private school. I don't think it's without it's faults, but it's the lesser of the evils.

I could not tell you how many times I have said the EXACT same thing about Obama. The problem is down here if you say anything about him, you're automatically considered a racist. Irks me to no end.

Glad that your meds are making you feel better. I know you are, too!

And I do know the state fish of Hawaii (thank you, High School Musical), but I couldn't spell it to save my life.

Sounds like you've had a long week. What are you doing to reward yourself this weekend?

'Late' should be my middle name. I can't make it to work before 7:05. I've accepted it and have told my coworkers that they may as well accept it, too.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend! You totally need one anyways :)
Love the rambling post...I might need to post one. Random is what my mind is made up of these days!
OK... i thought I worked a lot but almost 30 hours in 2 days.. DAMN! & also? I'm jealous that you opened your pool. Craig & friends spent the day putting up railing on the upper level of our patio so that someone can't hurl themselves off the 4' drop, so hopefully pool opening will take place next weekend. Then we can have cyber pool parties!! :)
It's just me :) said…
My best friend said "cooter" all the time. Cracks me up.

Too many times I have typed a long post/assignment/whatever only to have it go *poof* once I hit post. Now I type everything in Word and copy and paste. Saves my sanity.

I agree with your Obama comment! People just don't get it.

Doesn't blogger keep saving your blog as you type it? Among my first posts I also spent all that time writing and then it vanished...and I didnt realize until later when I looked at edit post..that it was there - for the most part.

Glad you are feeling better!!

@Denise, in theory blogger saves it every few minutes. But blogger also likes to be a little biotch and drop the connection to itself, so while I'm typing away, I fail to notice the red words at the bottom "trying to reconnect" and then click publish and poof, it's gone. I went back hoping, praying it had all been saved only to find the measley first sentence. Naughty blogger.
I was trying to put in a picture for Mission Monkey (a fundraiser at Ian's blog thedailydoseofreality.blogspot.com) and it kept going to the bad request screen when I clicked submit. I tried it without the picture button and then it finally worked. IDK if any one else had problems with that though...

Obama is half white/half black and raised in Hawai'i. end of story. glad you agree ;)
