Oh Laura Erika, how I've missed thee! Erika is the lovely writer of The Girl Next Door Grows Up . Not only was she one of my very first followers, but her Feel Good Friday meme (ps, still looking for an alternative word to use here), was one of the very first blog posts I did! I L.O.V.E. this woman and her blog and her quirkiness and, oh, I just want to give her a hug! Anyway, I haven't participated in Feel Good Friday in way too long and I've really missed it. I think it's such a great way to remember the great times from the week and forget about the bad. If you'd like to play along and share some of your good times from the week, hop on over to her blog and choose one of the 5 prompts. Don't forget to link up! I have decided to write about a couple things that made me really, really happy this week: 1. On Monday, I had my Microbiology final exam. My grade in this class all summer has been a mid B because I did horribly on one freakin' exam. I was really...

It's Friday, so time to join The Girl Next Door Grows Up for "Feel Good Friday." Here are five six things that made me happy/feel good this week: 1. Oodles of family time over the weekend! My amazing grandmother came into town for a few days; we had my mom's family over here on Saturday; I babysat for my awesome cousins Saturday night; I went to my aunt and uncle's Sunday for Easter dinner; and I babysat for my awesome cousins again on Monday night! LOVED it! I seriously have to have the best family in the world. And I really love that I grew up with my extremely extended family, too. How many people can say they are close to their third (and now fourth) cousins? 2. The WEATHER! And FLOWERS! It looks soooooooooo beautiful. When I have more time, I'll share some pictures of the yard (my dad should be a landscape pro)! The beginning of the week was in the 80s, sunny, and just oh so perfect. Then the thunderstorms and tornado warnings rolled in, but I love...

It's that time of the week again! If you need a pick-me-up for the week, join The Girl Next Door Grows Up as she hosts "Feel Good Friday." Things that made me happy this week are: 1. Vacationing in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with my mom and neighbors. Such a lovely escape it has been. And the 14 hour drive was more entertaining than I could have expected. Like the fact that we had to take five different exits in Kentucky just to find a gas station who had a restroom that wasn't a port-a-john (as they called them). And the city of Florence, KY has a water tower that said, "Florence, Y'all." Only in Kentucky. And that we planned on driving another 30 miles and then stopping for dinner, but that all went out the window when even so much as a fast food joint wasn't seen for another 120 miles. 2. Retail therapy. It's so good for the soul, isn't it? Woohoo for outlet malls with insanely cheap prices :) 3. My new found love of headbands! I haven...

** comin' at'cha a day early because I won't have time tomorrow...** Sorry, no post for "Feel Good Friday" this week for the simple fact that I babysat 38 hours last week and 25 this week and I can't even remember what I ate for breakfast this morning... never mind things that made me happy this week. But I don't recall it being a particularly rough week, so let's just say it was all happy :) But if YOU would like to participate, I know The Girl Next Door Grows Up would love to have you! Remember when I drove home from Florida with my dad and said the next time I sit in a car for longer than a few hours it better be because I'm moving somewhere fun and warm? I lied. Sorry. Don't cast stones for my lack of truthfulness :) The madre and I are hoppin' in the car bright and early Saturday morning and running away to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for the week! Neither of us have ever been so we're pretty stoked. We're going with my nei...

It's that time of the week again: Feel Good Friday! This week, I'm going to write about something that made me smile for The Girl Next Door Grows Up 'smeme... And that would be: Catching up with my best friend (HI, CARY!)! Cary and I met move in day of our freshman year at college and the rest is history. Even though she transfered to a school in Boston after the first semester, it's as if there is no distance between us. We both hate talking on the phone, so we don't talk as much as we'd probably like, but when we catch up, we always pick up right where we left off. True sign of a good friend, no? She really is the best. So supportive, so genuine, so accepting of me and my nutty ways. And is there for me at the drop of pen. We are polar opposites, but mesh so well. And her family is just as awesome! A rare find, I tell ya ;) But the best part about catching up with her this week was that it was yesterday. I got a random text from her that said, "HI FRIEND!...
