Monday Minute

Image
Hey all, how was your weekend? My brother turned 25 on Saturday and my Grams turned 89 on Sunday, so we had some family over to celebrate their lives. Otherwise, I laid low and studied for my microbiology final that I take tonight. Since it's Monday, I thought I'd participate in Ian's 'Monday Minute.' This week, Ian is co-hosting with Jenn from Brown Eyed Girl . Be sure to visit both their blogs. If you want to play along, copy and answer the questions, then link up! 1. Describe your life in one word. Chaotic or complicated. 2. Is there something you wished you had learned to do as a child? A cartwheel. It's the most pathetic site, to see me attempt to do one. 3. Who has been the biggest influence on your life? I don't really know. I guess my mom. She's shown me how to be a strong, independent woman. 4. What is your greatest dream/hope/aspiration? To be a mom to many children. Please, like y'all didn't know the answer to that. It's the one a...

M.I.A.

I have no excuse for my lack of blogging lately, I've just been enjoying the summer and really haven't had much to write about! Between the long 4th of July holiday weekend filled with cookouts and such, family being in town, enjoying the lack of work I've had to do for Microbiology, and spending time with friends and family, I've just been ignoring my computer! And it feels SOOOOOO good! So, sorry for taking 5+ days to respond to comments (some of which I still haven't gotten to... they're coming), and sorry for not reading and commenting on your blogs. I'd say I'll do better, but with the beautiful weather in full swing, the trend as of late will probably remain. Honestly, I don't have much to say, other than "Hi!" It's same ole', same ole' around here. However, I do have some thanking to do... JoJo @ Newlywed Adventures passed on the Outstanding Blogger Award to me! I feel so honored, especially since we haven't been read...

Monday Minute; Gucci Mama; The End of Gino; & An Award!

Alright folks, up first is Ian's Monday Minute. Today he is co-hosting with Jana @ Boobies, Babies, and a Blog , who helped write the following questions. If you want to play along, click on the button below, answer the questions, and link up! 1. Has anyone you've known personally lived to at least 100? Nope. But I pray my Grandma lives to be 100 (she'll be 89 August 1st), and my Great Uncle Mac lives to be 100 (he's 88)-- I say them now because they are my oldest living relatives and I don't know how I'm going to deal with their deaths. I've been fortunate to have yet to lose a close relative and have an understanding of it (three of my grandparents passed before I was born, my great aunt's and uncle's passed when I was too young to really get it.). I also pray that my parents and brother and I live to be 100. 2. What material possession do you value the most? Aside from all the photographs and home videos in my house, I'd say a few jewelry piec...

Featured on another Blog...

Image
A while back, Momma Fargo 'nominated' me to be interviewed on another blog. When I received the email from Dee, over at Say Anything , I was so excited. I love being interviewed! Today, Dee has featured my interview on her blog, so hop on over and check it out if you want! Thanks so much Momma Fargo, for the nomination, and Dee, for the feature!! Also, an embarrassingly long time ago, Elizabeth and Jess both passed on the this blog award: Thanks, ladies! I'm supposed to share 7 things about me, but I'll have to do it later. I'm also supposed to pass it on, but no one ever takes it when I do. But, if you want it, it's yours. Back to studying for microbiology. Lovely way to spend the summer, huh? Happy Hump Day!

The Best MF I know...

I'm talking about Momma Fargo, y'all! What were you thinking?!? Naughty readers! One of my favorite bloggers, Momma Fargo , gave me a sweet little award. Seriously, I love this woman. I wish she was my aunt (I'd say mom, but my mom is pretty neat) and I had the pleasure of having her in my every day life. Her blog is a clusterf*** (only word I could think of) of goodness; mostly stories about her career as a cop. Have I ever told about my obsession with crime shows (the real ones, not that Hollywood fabricated stuff) and crime novels and the shows COPS and America's Most Wanted? No? Well I'm obsessed. There, now you know. Anyway, obviously, given my obsession, hearing stories straight from the mouth of a real-life Popo makes me happy. That, and the fact that she's given me permission to tase people. She's hilarious and you are missing out if you don't read her blog. Fickle White (my brother's good friend-- Hi, John!-- calls me that and I think it...

Honest Scrap Award!

Image
My girl Pennie, Mom Thoughts , gave me the Honest Scrap Award, truth or dare style (minus the dare, although that would be fun!)! And because I'm a rule follower, here's 10 confessions you probably never cared to know :p 1. I only stick up for myself when it comes to my family, every one else can pretty much walk all over me (unless you lie to me, in which case, I will roast your tush like a 'mallow at a campfire). Not something I am proud of, by any means, and has been a major source of frustration my entire life, but it is what it is. 2. Knowing I made someone laugh gives me an immeasurable amount of joy. I just love the thought of making someone's day a little brighter. 3. I'm really shy around people I'm not close to. Really, really shy. 4. My dreams: travel the world, become a wife and mother, live to be 100, make a difference in the world, be remembered as someone with a big personality and an even bigger heart. 5. I get migraines at least three times a mo...

My First (Blog-ish) Award!

Image
My sweet, awesome friend Jess gave me an award! Now, it's not for my blog, persay, but it's an award, and we met through blogging, so I'll count it as my first blogger award! Apparently homegirl thinks I have some mad fashion skills. I'd agree. Haha. Kidding. Sort of. Ok, but really, she gave me this: I don't really know how I would define my personal style, except for classy and somewhat trendy. My family and friends tell me (when I'm not looking repulsive) that I look like I'm straight out of Manhattan. I LOVE fashion. But I tend to choose what I like and what works with my body, not necessarily always choosing what is "in" for the season. That just really isn't my focus. Besides, shoulder pads are supposedly in and I wouldn't be caught dead in that nonsense. And not just because I look enough like a line-backer without the extra oomph. Most of my clothes now come from LOFT, but that's just because it's one stop shopping and I a...
