Fall Schedule

I received my schedule for the fall, which will be broken down into two 7-week sessions. The first seven weeks I will be in class MWF, clinical at a hospital in Ft. Wayne, and a "free" day Thursdays.

MW- 7:50am-9:50am Physical Assessment

MWF- 10am-12pm Adult Health I

M- 1:15pm-3:05pm Physical Assesment Lab

T- Clinical in Ft. Wayne for 5 weeks, 7am-3pm. Ft. Wayne is over an hour drive from campus, so I'll have to wake up at 5. Have I ever mentioned how I am so NOT a morning person. And I don't drink coffee, tea, or energy drinks. Anyone have suggestions for waking up the mind & body that early in the morning?

W- 1:15pm-3:05pm Advanced Principles of Intervention

F- 2:15pm-4:05pm Advanced Principles of Intervention Lab.

The second 7-week session I'm not sure where my clinical will be or what day, but here is my class schedule. I'm really excited for these classes:

MWF- 10am-11:20am Nursing Care of Children

MWF- 12:30pm-2:30pm Pharmacology

MW- 2:40pm-4:40pm Maternal/Newborn Nursing

After those 14 weeks, I get another month off! Hopefully this semester goes as fast and I manage to do just as well as I have done so far.

The fear of oversleeping will wake you up on those mornings. I was on edge the whole time I was in school because I was so scared of oversleeping. BTW-I'm going to go to the post office and get some of those one price boxes next week and send you those books! Hope your new classes go well!!

Oh, I'm so glad you get a "free" day!!! I know you'll use it to study, etc, but at least it's one day that you won't be in classes.

I may have already told you this..... With the exception of my first semester, my entire college schedule consisted of Tues/Thurs classes ONLY. I commuted, so I would be at school ALL day, but it was only two days of the week. Awesomeness, I tell you. My senior year, I had a 10:30a - 8:30p schedule..... DOUBLE awesomeness. Those were the days.

Here's hoping your Fall goes as great as your Summer!

My drive to school is only 35ish minutes, and the drive to the hospital where I have clinical is only about 20 minutes, but thats about to get a lot shorter because I am actually moving to town where the school and hospital is at.
I am not a morning person like you so I'm still dreading the getting up at 5:00am to start clincal at 6:30am (but we have to be there by 6am).
Hope you have a great Fall semester. I really enjoy your blog!

Oh! I too forgot. I have a free day on Fridays which I'm sure will actually be a day filled full of studying so not sure how "free" it actually is.
I too am nervous about oversleeping. I have a habit to do that. I hope Pink, Green, and Southern is right that the anxiety of oversleeping will actually prevent me from oversleeping!

I'd suggest to wake up at the same time every weekday...so it is easier on your body. The body will get used to it - but try to start about a week before classes start. When you get ready you can put on a little music - that might help. I don't drink caffine but I guess I'm more of a morning person. Can't wait to hear about your classes. Good luck!

Girl, I will be right there with you! I have tried to start getting used to my new shcedule beginning this week but I still overslept this morning and was almost late to work.

Getting used to wokring on what used to be my off days and getting up, ready & out the door in time to make my clinical and beat traffic is going to be hard.

Good luck this semester!

Ack! That 7am start and that drive does NOT sounds like fun. Load up on the caffeine.
