One Step Closer

First off, thanks to the two people who actually followed through with my request in my last post and gave me ideas. But, seriously? TWO out of 110+ readers? That is Lame with a capital "L." So Katie & Gini, y'all get some major cool points from me. And Pam, you do, too, just because your comment made me laugh so loud I scared my dogs.

Anyramble...

This morning I received an email from the lady I've been in communication with for a year-ish from the school that I applied to for nursing school. I was kind of caught off guard since all my questions have been answered from her and I'm really now just waiting to see if I'll be starting nursing school in July or packing my bags and moving. So, imagine my surprise when I opened it and saw that...

THEY WANT ME TO COME IN FOR AN INTERVIEW!!!!!!

WOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!

Y'all, I am so excited! From what I've heard, they only bring people in for interviews to make sure they think they are a good fit & to gauge their communication skills and see how serious they are about becoming a nurse. I'm not trying to get my hopes up too high, but I'm pretty easy to talk to and, DUH, my first degree is in communications, so I'm hopeful that the interview will go smoothly!

If you would, please, keep me in your prayers from now until March 18, when my interview is, I'd so greatly appreciate it.

Also, I'd like to thank each and every single one of you for supporting me during this whole process and continually encouraging me and knowing just the right things to say to make me keep going and not give up. It means more to me than you'll ever know and I feel incredibly blessed to have each of you in my life.

One last thing, could you guys please keep Jenna and her family in your thoughts and prayers as they deal with the loss of her grandfather? Thanks, darlings.

smooches,

Congrats on the interview! I think you will rock it. They would be foolish not to love you and admit you.

I will also keep Jenna in my thoughts - losing someone is never easy.

WOO HOO! Congrats on the interview! I'm sure you'll do just fine; from what I read, you've been preparing for this moment for a very long time. :-) I will definitely keep you in my thoughts. Time to celebrate! Have a drink (or 10). It will calm your nerves.
EXCITING! Just think, you'll be starting when I finish!

I just had my first little "omg the nclex is going to be so f-ing hard and I"m going to fail miserably moment." And it's only February.

God-willing I pass, I will be sure to pass all of my study stuff onto you! Yay!

You don't need it, but sending you lots of luck anyway. Just be yourself and you'll charm the pants off of them. :)

Marianne, my apologies for not sending suggestions. I really did think about it for a few minutes and couldn't come up with anything 'good' that I said I would get back to it...and well, I was just busy. So here are a few: least favorite fruit and why. How you feel about a specific hot topic, your thoughts on something controversial, a goal (aside from nursing) that you have this year. What it was like growing up with a brother. What is the hardest thing to buy yourself/others? And because I really can't think (as you can tell from my Qs) just copy topics other people write about. I do that. steal ideas all the time. My responses are different so it isn't wrong, just helpful.

Also, I am SO HAPPY about the interview. I am sure you'll do great. I can't wait to hear all about it.

Marianne,

That's so wonderful. Congratulations!! I remember when that was me a few years back. Man, the time really flies!! Anyway, hopefully I'll see you in sunny St. Thomas before your interview, but if I don't...GOOD LUCK!!!! I know you'll do wonderfully!

Just be yourself.
Please tell us because I am curious what they will ask you?
I never had to do anything like that for nursing school, but between the day and evening programs there were over 200 students per year.
