Frigid.

Like much of the country, Indiana has been hit with a nasty winter storm. It snowed a little bit last night, but it's mostly been raining ice. Lots and lots of ice. Four and a half inches of it, to be exact. The trees are starting to sag, the winds are picking up, and more ice is pelting the windows, and should be until the ice storm warning expires in another 27 hours and the snow moves in.

Personally, I don't really care. Sure, I'd rather not have this weather, but I don't mind being stuck at home and not feeling guilty about it, especially since it's the middle of winter and I despise walking outside in the frigid temperatures. However, if all of this hinders my plans to fly to Florida Saturday morning & have my butt on a beach by Saturday afternoon, you'll likely see my mugshot on the national news for stealing a jet and flying myself away from Antarctica. Shall I pick some of you up on my way?

In the meantime, I'm going to enjoy my time at home, relaxing, and hopefully tapping into my creative side for the first time in a long time and actually blogging something worth reading.

Until then, hope you all stay safe and warm if you're being struck by this nasty weather. And if you're somewhere warm, well, pin a rose, on your nose.

Here's a little video of my brother showing how frozen our driveway is. He tried to chip away at it with a pick-ax, but made little progress (as evidenced in the video- I mean, the ax BOUNCES off the ice. That is NOT normal). Ignore my annoying laugh.

We have about a foot of snow on the ground and it's still coming down. I'll take snow over ice any day. The Ice Storm of 2007 left us without power for over a week. The Ice Storm of 2008 left us without power for 4 days.

Here's to hoping you are much luckier than we are in that respect. Maybe you live in a city that was smart enough to bury their lines!

Yes, stop and get me with that jet! I want the vacation, even if it ends with a jail sentence.

Pin a rose on your nose! Ha! I haven't heard that expression in years.

Oh, and damn. That some cold-lookin' shite. Although, I'm a little jealous that apparently San Antonio is the only spot in the world (or, among my facebook friends) that did not have a "snow day" today. While everyone is snuggled up in bed, I'm dragging my arse to work. Boo!

Yikes! I hope you don't lose power...b/c then the "stuck at home" becomes not as much fun!

Stay warm...and hope you get out on Saturday! :)

LOL - love the video!

Stay warm! I finally got out of my house on Tuesday. 6 days snowed in with varying electricity = major cabin fever!

That is some serious ice, Marianne!
This weekend we're supposed to have some near-tropical temps...up to 38 degrees (trust me...tropical!).
But, come Monday, we're back to single digits and by Wed. we're down to 4 or 5. Sigh.
Can you believe the groundhog predicts an early Spring? Stupid groundhog! I don't think he knows what he's talking about...
