Gimme Yo Feedback!

What up, peeps? So my one year blogiversary (or however it's spelled. I secretly hate that word.) is in January and I'm considering doing a giveaway or two for all of you awesome readers! Here's the best part: it would be the easiest giveaway in the world. None of this, "Blog about it, tweet about it, sing a song, slap your knees, and turn your body into a human pretzel" crap. I hate that. What I want to know from you is, what kind of item or items would you most like to win in a giveaway? And let's be realistic, ok? I won't be shipping out a Rolex or Mercedes. What kind of giveaways get you excited? What kind make you think, "Who the heck wants that crap?" What would make you squeal if you won? I have some possibilities, but want more, so give me some idears! Oh yea, please? Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Wednesday's Words of Wisdom

Update on Question for Certain Anonymous Reader:

Remember when I put myself out there for a reader from "Police Athletic League of Jacksonville" in the hopes that said reader was a single, tall male between the ages of 24 and 33? Well, I received an email from the reader a few weeks ago and here is what was said: Hey! Sorry to disappoint but I'm actually a girl, 4'10", 21 years old and a grant writer. But I am outgoing and single! haha :) Recently, I stumbled upon your blog and I added it to my list of favorites. I decided to catch up on some blog reading today and came across your post about me. I about died laughing at my desk. Sadly, all the cops I work with are men above the age of 45. Trust me, I wish there were some hot young officers up in this place! :) Thanks for posting about me, it made a rough day a little brighter! Sincerely, Katie {unfortunately not a 6 foot, extremely attractive man in uniform} Well, damn. I knew it couldn't be that easy. But, good news, all of you can continue on the quest

Handmade Goods.

I'm about as crafty as Lindsay Lohan is sober & Barack Obama is a good president (oh snap! sorry, couldn't resist ;)) , so sometimes I scour etsy.com and ogle over the crafting abilities of others. I just don't have the creative bug, or patience, or ability to make something pretty with my own two hands. Except for decorating and a little bit of photography, but I don't call that "crafty." So today I thought I'd give you all some wonderful Holiday gift ideas and share with you some people who know how to get in touch with their Martha Stewart side and could give her a run for her money. First up is my dear friend, CJ, and her shop 614 Creations . CJ is a friend from college who I absolutely adore. We met in education classes when I was a special-ed major and then went to Hawaii the same semester. She is now a 4th grade teacher (pause and clap for Ceej. 5 days a week with 25 ten year olds? No thank you!) and started making and selling jewelry last wint

New York City: Part 2

For part 1, go here . Or scroll down, because it's not like I've written a billion posts in between part 1 and now. Saturday morning we slept in until 10ish and awoke to a beautiful day: sunny and in the 50s! Considering it was snowing at home, I was happy. We finally headed out around noon and went straight to the box office to purchase tickets for a Broadway show. I've seen countless Broadway shows (2 actually on Broadway when I was there 5 years ago, several that have come to Indy/Chicago) and was SHOCKED when Rosh told me she had never seen any (except for RENT, but that was in her hometown). She's been to NYC hundreds of times and never seen a show! It was a must and she was excited about it. Since it was her first time experiencing that, I let her choose which show we saw. Her pick? Promises, Promises with Sean Hayes and Kristin Chenoweth thank you google images for letting me borrow this pic. The show wasn't until 2, so after we picked up our tickets we head

I'm Not Dead...

... yet. Remember a few months ago when I was whining about how I had so much time on my hands and was bored and needed more to do? Well, be careful what you wish for. I need a better analogy than this, but I've literally been running around like a chicken with my head cut off since I started my new job. I won't rehash what my schedule has looked like (and continues to look like), but it's been insane. And with little computer access. Although it's not like I'd have time for the computer even if the access was there. Maybe I should start wearing this on a daily basis? Anyhow, I have a lot of posts I want to write (including Part 2 of my trip!), and am hoping to get some written this weekend and then set them up to be wonderful little surprises in your dashboard every so often. That's assuming y'all haven't forgotten about me! Miss you's and hugs!

Warning: long post. What else did you expect? Last week I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off (funny, I feel like that's how this week has been, too), but even that couldn't take away from my excitement about my trip to New York City. My blog friend Rosh won the trip and graciously asked if I wanted to join her, and I immediately jumped at the chance to go to one of my favorite places at a majorly discounted rate. Even if I'd never met the person I'd be vacationing with in person. And guess what? I had a GREAT time! We hit it off and, at least to me, there wasn't any awkwardness at all. We had a lot in common and the start of a good friendship was formed. The weekend was exactly what I needed and I seriously cannot thank Rosh enough for her kindness and generosity. The trip went far too quickly and we're already planning our next getaway :) Your's truly and Rosh. I'm going to break it up into two posts; Thursday/Friday & Saturday/S

Checking In.

Image
Hi, all! I just wanted to pop in and say a quick hello! I'm back from NYC and had a wonderful time that went far too quickly. Why can't every day be a vacay? Reality is far too real for my liking. Once I'm back into the groove of things, I'll write a post about the trip... which will hopefully be within the next couple days. Hope y'all are doing well! Hugs! Oh, and sorry for my lack of replying to comments before I left. I was really busy that week and hardly on my computer, but they were appreciated. Y'all are the best :)
