Monday Minute


Hey all, how was your weekend? My brother turned 25 on Saturday and my Grams turned 89 on Sunday, so we had some family over to celebrate their lives. Otherwise, I laid low and studied for my microbiology final that I take tonight.

Since it's Monday, I thought I'd participate in Ian's 'Monday Minute.' This week, Ian is co-hosting with Jenn from Brown Eyed Girl. Be sure to visit both their blogs. If you want to play along, copy and answer the questions, then link up!


Monday Minute

1. Describe your life in one word.

Chaotic or complicated.

2. Is there something you wished you had learned to do as a child?

A cartwheel. It's the most pathetic site, to see me attempt to do one.

3. Who has been the biggest influence on your life?

I don't really know. I guess my mom. She's shown me how to be a strong, independent woman.

4. What is your greatest dream/hope/aspiration?

To be a mom to many children. Please, like y'all didn't know the answer to that. It's the one and only thing that would leave me feeling unfulfilled should it not be accomplished.

5. Do you believe you have reached your potential? Why or why not?

Hmm, that's kind of a tough question. Honestly, I'm not sure any of us ever meet our full potential, as I think there is always room for growth and improvement. We can always be a better sibling, child, parent, employee, boss, student, person, etc.

I laughed so hard at your cartwheel answer. I thought all little girls knew how to do a cartwheel. The things we take for granted...sigh...

Ooooh....a cartwheel.....I should've said THAT!! I've never learned to do one, either! (And I don't think I'm about to start learning NOW. I'd fall on my big fat head and break it.)

My elder monkey child turned 12 on Saturday...and her 3rd cousin turned 12 on Sunday! Tres bizarre, to be born a day apart before they're ever even related....LOL

awww...you can't do a cartwheel??? that is sad...

And I know how you feel on the greatest hope...I want to be married and have kids...and I feel like I say it over. and. over. and. over again! Of course, you are a lot younger than me...so you have more time! For me, I feel like time is closing me out!

Well...I hate to hear this too, but it will happen when it happens!

I didn't intend to skip out for the past (almost) week, &, as a matter of fact, I actually HAD things to blog about (shocking, I know), but the end of last week was pure chaos and time did not allow for much of anything other than work/appointments/errands/getting ahead on school work/playing mom to three kids all weekend. And all of that running around & time spent with kids has left me with a terrible cold, intense nausea, and sleep deprevation. Random Facts about Me You Probably Don't Care to Know.

Brown Eyed Girl Jenn did this post earlier today and I thought it was fun, I haven't done a meme in ages, and I have a handful of new followers who may like to know useless information about me, so I figured what the heck? Might as well steal it. Thanks, Jenn! The ABCs of yours truly! A. Age -- 23. I'll be 24 on May 20th (I love surprises in the mail, hint hint ;)) and some days I can't believe I'm that old, while others, I can't believe I'm that young. B. Bed size -- Queen and it's the most heavenly thing in the world, which is great, but also bad, because it is nearly impossible to pull myself out of bed every morning... or afternoon. C. Chore you dislike -- Cleaning the shower would probably be my least favorite. I have a shower/tub combo and I really just hate getting on my hands and knees and scrubbing the bejeezus out of the thing. Plus, I feel like I smell like Clorox for the next 3 showers. D. The Season of Giving... & Receiving

Read this post. Trust me, you'll want to. Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year. From Thanksgiving until January 1st, I forget about how much I despise cold weather and bask in the warmth that is Christmas cheer. Oh, Lord, is that cheesy or what? But I mean it. There's just something about all the decorations, the music, the preparation for the birth of my Lord, that makes me all giddy. But it can also be a stressful time with the end of school, shopping to do, letters to send, volunteer work, etc. I know I'm not the only person in the world who stresses. Kids, taking care of the home, jobs, finding a job, loved ones who are fighting for our freedom overseas, school, being a good friend and family member-- it can all be so overwhelming and take a toll on the body. I try to use homeopathic remedies (I think that's the term I'm looking for...) when I'm feeling incredibly stressed because Lord knows my body gets pumped full of enough pharmaceuticals as is
